On Monday the 14th of April PALAIA will be holding an full-day workshop which continues our series covering the languages of Ancient Anatolia. We will revisit Phrygian: an Indo-European language largely preserved in fragments which shares many features with Ancient Greek.
We will quickly revisit material from our previous Phrygian workshop (Greek testimonia and New Phrygian fragments) in order to catch all attendees up, and then we’ll dive into a selection of documents of Old Phrygian (written with the Phrygian alphabet) as well as a newly discovered Middle Phrygian inscription.
This will be held as full-day workshop starting from 9am running until 3:30pm, with breaks for lunch and coffee, on the Macquarie University Campus (Location TBA).
You will also be able to join this workshop via Zoom. The Zoom link will be posted closer to the date, so keep an eye out!
